About this grant
This project supports Derecho Ambiente y Recursos Naturales in expanding renewable energy access in the Amazonian region of Loreto, Peru, by developing off-grid solar energy systems at the community level to improve health, education and sustainable production. It also seeks regulatory reforms to enhance renewable energy access across the Peruvian Amazon. With this grant increase and associated grant period extension, the organization will further demonstrate the benefits of off-grid systems, build regional alliances and promote knowledge exchange with partners from Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador to advance Indigenous leadership in renewable energy systems. These activities will ensure that the organization consolidates substantial gains from the project and positions the work for continued success in the long term.
