About this grant
Ashoka is an international nonprofit organization that fosters a global ecosystem of social entrepreneurs focused on innovative solutions to address a range of development challenges, including global climate change. With previous support, Ashoka mapped and identified over 140 social innovators advancing renewable energy services in East Africa’s agricultural sector. The grantee provided targeted technical assistance to a select group of 12 leading innovators, one of whom was chosen to join the global Ashoka Fellowship Network. With renewed support, Ashoka will continue to strengthen the ecosystem of partners and social entrepreneurs, as well as provide expanded technical assistance services to select social entrepreneurs working to advance the productive use of solar energy services in key agricultural sectors of East Africa.
