About this grant
Representing and uniting eight Great Lakes states and two provinces, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers is instrumental in protecting the region’s water resources. For instance, the grantee is deeply involved in implementing the Great Lakes Compact, a regional water management agreement designed to control diversions outside the basin and effectively steward water resources within the basin. Partial funding from the Mott Foundation will support a planning and research project to ensure there is consistency in decision-making when it comes to the long-term implementation of the Great Lakes Compact.
