About this grant
Founded in 2000, and incorporated in the United States in 2010, Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The grantee has established a global network, linking more than 230 philanthropic associations and support organizations from around the world through international exchange, information services, networking and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. During 2023-24, the grantee: 1) represented the sector and its members in various global and regional fora and networks; 2) published research related to philanthropy and philanthropy infrastructure; 3) disseminated information and analysis about the sector through social media, blogs and an online newsletter; 4) held capacity-building workshops and online webinars; and 5) launched a new strategy to strengthen the enabling environment for philanthropy. During the current grant period, the grantee will focus on strengthening an enabling environment for philanthropy by building members’ capacity for policy advocacy as well as increasing membership in the Global South. This grant increase will strengthen the organization and its sector-supporting programs as operations pivot due to a changing funding environment.
