About this grant
This initial grant will provide suport to the Empowerment Plan to manufacture and distribute 500 coats to unhoused individuals in Flint. In 2024, nearly 4,000 individuals experienced homelessness on a single night in Flint and Genesee County. Hypothermia is a leading cause of preventable injury and death among unhoused individuals. Coats are vital in reducing these risks and connecting this population to a potential workforce opportunity in the development of the physical coat making.
