About this grant

The Association for Communities Participatory Development is a nonprofit alliance of local councils and territorial communities established in 2020 to develop democratic, open and inclusive local governance by promoting participatory practices and underscoring the significance of resident involvement in local development. Currently, the association includes more than 40 local government and civil society representatives, representing 24 territorial communities from seven Ukrainian regions. An institutional development support grant is helping the grantee: 1) formalize a network of past and current project participants to undergo strategic planning; 2) support the professional development of staff; 3) upgrade its office equipment; 4) improve its communications capacity; and 5) establish a monitoring, evaluation and learning framework. A grant increase will allow the association to conduct a Civic Participation Forum in November 2025 through a strategic partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Civic Initiatives. A successful forum will enhance the visibility and influence of the Association for Communities Participatory Development, contributing to its future sustainability.
