About this grant
This grant will provide funds to the University of Michigan-Flint Department of Public Safety to increase patrols and responses to crime occurring on campus and in the greater downtown Flint area. Department of Public Safety officers cooperate with law enforcement across the community to proactively prevent crime and to respond when crime occurs. This grant will support four additional full-time officers and one sergeant for the department. The Department of Public Safety will work in partnership with the Office of Genesee County Sheriff and the Flint Police Department to reduce crime and increase public safety in the greater downtown area.
