About this grant
The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, established in 1976, provides a permanent funding source for public acquisition of conservation land and public outdoor recreation. In 2026, on the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund’s 50th anniversary, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources proposes to raise public awareness of the trust fund’s positive impact around the state. With partial support from the Mott Foundation, the department will develop and distribute public education materials and host public events that highlight how the trust fund’s investments have benefited conservation projects and communities throughout Michigan.
