About this grant
The project goal is to increase access to justice for poor and marginalized people in South Africa. To this end, ProBono.Org will support a network of community advice offices to provide justice services to low-income and marginalized individuals who predominantly reside in informal settlements in the Gauteng province of South Africa. The grantee will equip these advice offices with the necessary tools and learning opportunities to provide justice services. With its network of pro bono attorneys, the grantee will offer backup legal support to the advice offices. ProBono.Org was established in 2006 with the purpose of increasing access to justice by serving as a clearinghouse that facilitates the provision of pro bono legal services to vulnerable and impoverished individuals.
