About this grant
The Daybreak Fund is a project of the Windward Fund, which hosts and fiscally sponsors various innovative environmental initiatives. The Daybreak Fund is a donor collaborative that pools financial and technical support from multiple funders to accelerate nature-based, community-centered water and climate solutions across the Lake Michigan basin. The Daybreak Fund supports projects that restore wetlands and forests, expand regenerative agriculture and green stormwater infrastructure. The Daybreak Fund also strengthens Indigenous leadership in water stewardship. With partial funding from the Mott Foundation, the Daybreak Fund will continue to support several model water resource conservation projects annually. The model projects will deliver multiple benefits, including improved drinking water quality, protection of surface and groundwater and enhanced community well-being in the Great Lakes region.
