About

Adrian Ohmer manages Mott’s public equity investments and supports the foundation’s mission by helping to grow its endowment. Before joining Mott, he was an investment director at the Kresge Foundation, where he helped manage its public markets program.

Ohmer previously was senior manager of private equity at the United Auto Workers Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, where he helped manage the largest nongovernmental purchaser of retiree health care in the United States. He also helped lead the trust’s inclusion efforts and identified diverse managers with whom to invest. Ohmer also has served as a principal at Invest Detroit Ventures.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Before earning his law degree, Ohmer began his career in credit derivatives at Goldman Sachs in New York City. He also served as chief of staff to the global head of private wealth management and worked for the global chief operating and marketing officers of private wealth management on strategic projects.

Ohmer serves as treasurer on the board of Institutional Limited Partners Association, and he has won several awards for his work. In 2023, Chief Investment Officer magazine named him one of the industry’s next generation of chief investment officers. He also was a recipient of the Crain’s Detroit Business 2021 Notable LGBTQ in Business award.
