Before joining the Foundation as an assistant investment administrator in 2001, Alicia Aguilar worked for a law firm in Southeastern Michigan, both positions she would not have anticipated when she was studying fashion design and merchandising at Wayne State University. “All I can say is that life seems to sometimes take you in a different direction than you intended,” she said. “But I love that I work with a great group of people and for an organization dedicated to helping communities and people all over the world.” Outside of work, Aguilar enjoys hiking northern Michigan’s trails and Arizona’s mountains. She loves to travel, and her all-time favorite destinations to date are the beaches of Mexico.
