Cristina Wright joined the Foundation as a part-time web administrator in 2011. She took over the position full time in 2013 and was promoted to communications associate in 2020. Her responsibilities include: shooting and editing photos and videos to build the Foundation’s collection; using her engineering and project management skills to maintain the Foundation’s photo collection in the digital asset management system; and assisting the Library with documenting and restoring items from the Foundation archives.
Before joining Mott, she worked as a systems engineer and project manager at Electronic Data Systems, where she led an international team responsible for building computer systems for General Motors Corporation. Wright and her parents and sister emigrated from Romania to the Detroit area when she was a teenager. Fluent in several languages, she credits American television with helping her learn English. She attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. She and her husband volunteer with a number of Flint area organizations and especially like helping out at their children’s schools. As a family, the Wrights love to camp in Michigan’s beautiful state parks.
