About

Gabby Abrego has over 12 years of experience working on civic space and community development in the U.S. and Latin America. Before joining Mott, she worked as a senior program manager for Global G.L.O.W. (Girls Leading Our World), where she designed profit-generating, mission-aligned business ventures to fund Global G.L.O.W. operations; oversaw a global portfolio of 50+ organizations advising program implementation; and established equitable and inclusive partnership models and internal systems. Earlier in her career, Gabby served as a Peace Corps community economic development volunteer in Paraguay, as well as an AmeriCorps VISTA service-learning coordinator at the Michigan Nonprofit Association.

While Abrego’s life and work have taken her from Washington, D.C., to California, El Salvador, Paraguay and Mexico, she grew up in Metro Detroit and is now proud to call the city her home. She loves to travel, meet new people and learn new languages. In addition to speaking English and Spanish, she studies Chinese, French and Italian. Her hobbies include dancing (ballet and modern), making ceramics, and nurturing her many indoor and outdoor plants.
