As chief financial officer and vice president, Administration, Kevin Perkins brings a wealth of experience in global financial management, strategic planning and nonprofit leadership to his role. His career is marked by a deep commitment to mission-driven work, with a focus on fostering organizational growth, enhancing financial sustainability and driving impactful change.

Before joining the Mott Foundation, Perkins served as chief financial officer and treasurer at the Critical Path Institute, an international nonprofit research institute dedicated to advancing medical innovation. In this role, he led the financial strategy and execution that contributed to a 70% increase in revenue. His leadership was instrumental in reshaping the organization’s financial infrastructure and managing international expansion, including the launch of European headquarters.

Perkins’ extensive experience also includes serving as associate vice president of finance and global operations at the University of Arizona, where he oversaw the financial and operational management of the university’s global campuses and international programs. His tenure at the university was marked by the successful expansion of its global presence to nearly 60 countries and the creation of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to support international growth.

Perkins also served for nearly a decade as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development. During his diplomatic career, he managed financial operations for U.S. diplomatic missions in Senegal, El Salvador, Bahrain and Guatemala and contributed to international development programs in civil society, education, environmental protection and health care.

Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Perkins holds a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and international business from the University of Cincinnati. He is a licensed certified public accountant.
