About this grant

This is one of ten grants recommended to state organizations for their participation in the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative. The Ford, Annie E. Casey, and Mott Foundations created the initiative in 1992 in order to build state capacity for timely, credible, and accessible tax and budget analysis on behalf of low- and middle-income families. The Fiscal Policy Institute joined the initiative in 1993 and is well-recognized throughout New York as an authoritative source of information on budget and tax policy issues, short- and long-term economic trends, and safety net and other low-income programs. During the renewal grant period, the grantee will prepare and disseminate analytical products across a range of issues. Other activities planned for the next two years include community outreach, public education, and strategic communications efforts. Related to this project is a grant to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, which provides technical assistance to all 36 organizations participating in this initiative.
