About this grant
The Shelter of Flint, Inc., provides services for approximately 1,300 homeless clients per year. The vast majority of these clients are families who are homeless primarily due to economic circumstances. The principal goal of the agency is to assist these individuals and families in achieving stability through a continuum of care ranging from crisis prevention to elimination of the root causes of homelessness. The additional funds will enable the shelter to make much-needed upgrades to its facility including replacing equipment such as a refrigerator, a freezer, washers, and dryers; replacing severely worn furniture and mattresses; and increasing dining room seating.
