About this grant
The European Foundation Centre is an independent membership association of foundations and corporate funders dedicated to promoting organized philanthropy in Europe and internationally. In 2009, the grantee carried out a range of activities including launching a new communications strategy, implementing the work plans of its four programmatic committees, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders and interest groups. In 2010, the grantee will continue to focus on: 1) positioning public benefit foundations at the European level, with a focus on work related to the European Foundation Statute and the treatment of foundations related to Value-Added Tax; 2) developing capacity-building activities for its members; 3) documenting and communicating the work of its members; and 4) connecting foundations to each other and other actors. Established in 1989 by seven of Europe’s leading foundations, the European Foundation Centre today serves over 200 core members.
