About this grant

Aspen Institute’s MicroTest project was created by and for practitioners interested in documenting and strengthening the level of performance in the domestic micro-enterprise field. Since its beginning in 1997, Micro Test has become a proven process through which practitioners define, debate, test and refine performance benchmarks based on actual experience serving low-income individuals. This grant will support MicroTest’s continuing efforts to expand its membership, build its sustainability, and enhance the value of the performance and outcomes data generated for its members, funders and other stakeholders.Currently, more than 70 agencies are voluntarily providing performance information to MicroTest to gain increased empirical knowledge about effective practices. MicroTest performance data also provides the basis for developing industry standards in collaboration with the Association for Enterprise Opportunity, the membership organization for micro-enterprise practitioners.
