About this grant
Multilateral development banks play a central role in formulating development policy. They remain the largest source of development finance in the world, and the World Bank’s environmental and social policies are the single set of standards most followed by other financial institutions. The Bank Information Center supports developing country organizations in their efforts to influence the social and environmental impacts of multilateral development bank-financed projects and policies. It provides information dissemination and capacity-building activities, networking and coalition-building expertise, and advocacy support. During the next two years, activities will include providing information and technical assistance to nongovernmental organizations’ efforts to reform the World Bank and regional multilateral development banks in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and Latin America. This grant provides continued general purposes support to the Bank Information Center.
