About this grant

This is one of ten grants recommended to state organizations as part of the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative. The Ford, Annie E. Casey and Mott Foundations created the initiative in 1992 in order to build state capacity for timely, credible, and accessible tax and budget analysis on behalf of low- and middle-income families. The Michigan League for Human Services joined this effort in 1994 and is recognized throughout the state as a source of information and analysis on how tax and budget decisions affect low-income programs. During this grant period, the grantee will prepare and disseminate analyses on a range of state budget, fiscal, and economic issues. Related to this project is a grant to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, which provides technical assistance to all 36 organizations participating in the initiative.
