About this grant
This grant will enable the Network of European Foundations for Innovative Cooperation to continue working to strengthen philanthropic cooperation among foundations and other types of organized philanthropy in Europe. The network serves as a launching pad for collaborative initiatives related to Europe and the role of Europe on the global stage. It manages donor-funded programs and initiatives related to building social capital, citizens’ rights, global governance, youth development, education and culture. In 2005, projects included the European Mercator Fund, a mechanism for supporting projects related to drug policy reform, sustainable development, immigration and health; and the Youth Empowerment Partnership Program, a collaborative initiative that addresses issues related to at-risk children and youth through community building. The network, based in Brussels, currently includes 11 foundations.
