About this grant
This is one of ten grants recommended to state organizations participating in the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative. The Ford, Casey, and Mott foundations created the initiative in 1992 in order to build state capacity for timely, credible, and accessible tax and budget analysis on behalf of low- and moderate-income families. The Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center joined the initiative in 1994 and is recognized throughout Massachusetts as an authoritative source of information and analysis. During the renewal grant period, the grantee will produce and disseminate analyses across a range of state fiscal and economic issues, with a particular emphasis on state and local tax policies and income support programs. Additional activities planned for the grant period include community outreach, strategic communications, and coalition building. Related to this project is a grant to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, which analyzes federal budget and tax policy issues and provides technical assistance to all the state organizations participating in this initiative.
