About this grant
Founded in 1970 as the Lake Michigan Federation, the Alliance for the Great Lakes seeks to conserve and restore the Great Lakes freshwater ecosystem through policy reform, public education, and local conservation projects. With previous Mott support, the grantee engaged in policy discussions regarding the Great Lakes Compact and the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, delivered public education and outreach programs, implemented organizational development strategies, and strengthened programs to address water pollution and invasive species. This renewal grant will allow the grantee to continue these efforts, while increasing efforts to address Great Lakes water issues at the local level.
