About this grant
BankTrack is a network of nongovernmental organizations seeking to reform the private financial sector and steer it toward social and environmental sustainability. Over the last two years, the grantee mobilized civil society input into the revision of the Equator Principles, a set of social and environmental standards for private lending in developing countries, with positive results. This renewal grant will provide general purpose support for the grantee to continue monitoring international private bank lending policies; track implementation of Equator Principles, particularly related to energy and climate change policies; develop a vision of banking that supports sustainable development; and provide support and capacity building to nongovernmental organizations focused on specific projects being funded by private international banks.
