About this grant
The Bretton Woods Project of ActionAid has been a key actor on international financial institution reform issues since it was established in 1995. It works with nongovernmental organizations, researchers, and officials to scrutinize and reform policies and practices of international financial institutions, particularly the World Bank Group. Over the last grant period, the project helped to ensure that key issues in the safeguard policy review remained in the forefront of policy debates, particularly via its flagship publication that reaches 13,000 policymakers. With this grant, the Bretton Woods Project will continue its work to strengthen civil society networks to advocate for reform of international financial institutions; support policy reform efforts to address environmental and social impacts; and ensure that developing country governments have more influence at the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund.
