About this grant
The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has been providing technical assistance, support services, and more recently, challenge grants to emerging Russian community foundations. A total of 20 Russian community foundations exist throughout the country since the first one was registered in 1998. At present, Russian community foundations in aggregate award close to $1 million in grants annually.This grant will enable CAF to continue its challenge grant program to Russian community foundations. Besides matching funding for operational expenses, institutional development and endowment-building, challenge grants also will stimulate community foundations to expand their donor base, encourage giving by individuals and address social change. CAF also will continue to provide technical assistance and networking opportunities to existing and emerging community foundations.
