About this grant
The program goal is to further the development of community foundations in Russia. Through this program, Charities Aid Foundation will award small grants for start-up and consolidation of new community foundations, as well as target grants to strengthen regional alliances and to identify meaningful models for effecting social change. In addition, the grantee will continue to provide ongoing technical assistance and networking opportunities to existing and emerging community foundations in Russia. This technical and financial support to the development of community foundations in Russia has seen their number grow to almost 35 with local fundraising exceeding $7 million in 2007, more than double the amount raised in 2006. Charities Aid Foundation distributes more than $500 million annually to charitable causes worldwide on behalf of individual, corporate, and trust clients. Based in the United Kingdom, it has offices in Russia, Australia, Bulgaria, India, South Africa, and the United States.
