About this grant

This grant assists the International Society for Third-Sector Research, a global membership association that encourages, supports, and provides academic legitimacy to the study of the nonprofit sector around the world. Based at Johns Hopkins University, the society’s major accomplishments include convening seven biennial international research conferences; publishing special reports, conference working papers, and a scholarly journal; and convening regional meetings of research networks in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia and the Pacific. In 2007-2008, activities will include organizing regional network meetings in the Philippines, Brazil, and Spain; convening the directors of research centers involved in third-sector research; continuing to publish regular reports, newsletters, and a journal; and holding a biennial international conference in mid-2008 in Spain.
