About this grant

The Land Trust Alliance is a national organization that provides technical support, training, and assistance to support land conservation, acquisition, and protection. With this renewal grant from the Mott Foundation, the grantee has lifted land trusts in the Great Lakes region to the point where they are performing better than land trusts across the nation. With renewed support, and following a model developed in the Chesapeake Bay, the grantee will investigate the viability of using land trust-related strategies to reduce polluted runoff in distressed Great Lakes watersheds. The grantee will continue to develop excellence among land trusts in the region, and will provide capacity support for enhanced communications and education.
