About this grant

This grant will provide general purpose support to Focus: HOPE to continue to deliver its comprehensive workforce training, education, social supports, childcare, and food distribution services to low-income residents in Detroit. For nearly five decades, Focus: HOPE has been a national leader in innovative and sustaining solutions to positively impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals across southeast Michigan through its unique blend of education and training, basic needs, neighborhood development, and local economic development efforts. Continued general purpose support is critical to help the grantee sustain its programming during Detroit’s socioeconomic rebirth and the dynamic shifts in the regional labor market, especially for low-income youth. This renewal grant continues support for Focus: HOPE’s plan to address the issues confronting the neighborhoods in the immediate area surrounding its campus, while leveraging support from other sources including foundations, businesses, and public-sector partners to sustain the grantee’s efforts to serve the community.
