About this grant
This grant will renew general purpose support to Focus: HOPE, an antipoverty and civil rights organization serving low-income residents of Detroit’s Oakman Boulevard neighborhood. Co-founded in 1968 by Father William Cunningham and Eleanor Josaitis, the grantee’s mission is to provide intelligent and practical solutions to overcome racism, poverty, and injustice. Mott funding will help support the grantee’s continued effort to transition its three main lines of work—supplemental food, workforce development training, and comprehensive neighborhood and educational revitalization—into a relevant and sustainable business model.
