About this grant
The program goal is to promote both citizen access to information and participation in democratic processes in Ukraine. Over the next three years, the grantee will conduct a series of polls and media roundtables, publish analytical reports, participate in voter education and issue-awareness campaigns and coalitions, conduct exit polls for national elections, support a network of Ukrainian think tanks, and promote Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration. The grantee’s exit polls during the Orange Revolution in 2004 were critical to pushing for free and fair elections, and the grantee continues to shape debate on Ukraine’s European orientation. Established in 1992, Democratic Initiatives Charitable Foundation is a leading public policy institution in Ukraine specializing in gathering and analyzing independent sociological data and ensuring that it reaches policymakers, the media, and the wider public.
