About this grant
The Africa Grantmakers’ Affinity Group, a project of the Tides Center, works to improve the field of grantmaking in Africa. Since 2001, it has served as a resource for grantmakers’ funding development efforts in Africa. Its activities include hosting annual retreats that bring members together in a peer learning environment to share information on issues of common interest. It also produces research on various topics related to funding in Africa. Over the next two years, the Africa Grantmakers’ Affinity Group will continue to focus on building, sharing, leveraging, and brokering knowledge about funding support for development efforts in Africa. It will also initiate a strategic process that will explore changes in the development landscape and philanthropy in Africa and how these changes impact its operations.
