About this grant

FERN’s work on global economic policy aims to ensure that international capital flows driven by policies and programs of the European Union contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development. During the last grant period, the grantee’s work led to the creation of new European Union requirements that European export credit agencies more fully report on the projects they guarantee. In addition, the grantee has raised attention to the problems of financial regulation of the European emissions trading system, ensuring that it is part of the discussions on revised European financial regulations. Over the next grant period, the grantee will monitor the implementation of the new export credit regulation and assess new areas of work related to the international financial flows that should be addressed.
