About this grant

This grant will enable the National League of Cities Institute – a research, education and training affiliate of the National League of Cities – to increase the capacity of mayors and other municipal leaders to launch cross-system efforts that expand education options for disconnected youth. During the most recent phase of this initiative, the institute focused on documenting effective practices of cross-system work in order to build a knowledge base to ground and support future outreach and technical assistance efforts. During the second phase of this initiative, emphasis will shift from documenting effective practices to providing more direct assistance to cities by working with municipal leaders to expand best practices and models that result in improved cross-system efforts for youth.
