About this grant
The greatest need identified in the field of community organizing is for additional trained organizers, a professional role that demands a sophisticated and disciplined skill set, including the ability to develop and challenge community leaders, identify and facilitate training needs, analyze social and economic conditions, develop hundreds of relationships across all sectors of a community, and lead critical evaluation and reflection sessions on the organization’s development and work. This grant will support a response to this need by funding the Organizers Institute sponsored by the Direct Action and Research Training Center.
