About this grant

The Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide works with public interest attorneys around the world to strengthen environmental and social standards for development finance of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. Investments by national development banks, particularly in Brazil and China, have surpassed World Bank lending and are driving energy and infrastructure investment in developing countries, often without the application of strong social and environmental safeguards. With this grant, the grantee will provide legal, scientific, and organizational support to environmental leaders to ensure that development finance respects the highest environmental and social standards.
