About this grant
The National Center for Black Philanthropy encourages giving and volunteerism among African Americans, and educates the public on African American philanthropy. This grant will enable the center to convene three regional meetings in 2006 and plan its Sixth National Conference on Black Philanthropy, to be held in Washington, D.C. in 2007. The center will also continue its endowment training workshop for African-American organizations in conjunction with its conferences; expand its Black Business and Philanthropy Initiative; develop partnerships to expand and market philanthropic giving in the black community; and work on efforts to expand membership and self-generated income.During the past two years, the center convened five regional meetings as well as its Fifth National Conference on Black Philanthropy; promoted increased participation through its Black Business and Philanthropy Initiative; and continued its various endowment training and public education programs.
