About this grant
In December 2005, the Great Lakes governors issued the proposed Great Lakes Compact, a new, ecologically based approach to managing water withdrawals and diversions throughout the portion of the Great Lakes basin in the United States. Clean Wisconsin, a statewide environmental group with a long-standing interest in Great Lakes issues, was engaged in the policy discussions leading up to the release of the draft interstate compact and has been involved in subsequent work to implement the compact. With renewed support from Mott, Clean Wisconsin will continue efforts to promote broad engagement in adoption of the compact, as well as help create and implement related state-level water conservation policies.
