Study on Education Organizing and Academic Improvement

About this grant

This grant will provide tie-off support to Austin Interfaith Sponsoring Committee for the organization’s education organizing work. For the past several years, Austin Interfaith Sponsoring Committee has focused on developing leaders, including parents, teachers, and principals; working with national experts to develop and sponsor Learning Academies for pastors, parents, teachers, and community leaders; and developing a "teacher pipeline" project to help long-term school employees become certified teachers. In addition, the organization also participated in the Foundation’s study to explore the role of education organizing in education reform efforts in low-performing districts and schools.
