About this grant
GuideStar is the premier source of information about nonprofit organizations in the United States, with data on over 1.7 million nonprofits in its database, millions of users of its free public services, and thousands of customers for its paid services. The grantee’s data services provide greater transparency for the nonprofit sector, encourage charitable giving by building public interest and trust, and enable individuals and institutions involved with charitable activities and organizations to make better decisions. The grantee has recently launched a strategic planning process in order to meet the increasing demand for high-quality and actionable data on nonprofits. In particular, the grantee expects that the planning process will help identify how it can: 1) help donors and nonprofits identify high performing organizations; 2) bundle data and tools into a variety of packages for various kinds of users; and 3) step up the pace of innovation. This grant increase will provide partial support for the planning process.
