About this grant
Charities Aid Foundation Southern Africa works to increase the amount and impact of investment in the nonprofit sector by promoting corporate and individual giving and volunteering in South Africa. In 2011-2012, the grantee distributed almost R4 million and other donations to over 400 nonprofit organizations; increased the number of volunteer hours donated to nonprofit organizations from that of previous years; refined volunteering policies and procedures for its corporate clients; designed and implemented training on organizational development to its client nonprofits; and participated in the development of an Independent Code of Governance for nonprofits in South Africa. Over the next two years, the grantee will continue to provide advisory services on corporate social investment strategies and promote employee volunteering in community development initiatives. It will also continue to manage various employee giving programs on behalf of clients.
