About this grant

The Nature Conservancy established the Great Lakes Forest Project to protect, through fee acquisition and conservation easements, more than 270,000 acres of forested land in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The project is a model conservation solution that supports the local timber economy, sustains the local tax base and maintains public access for outdoor recreation. This grant increase will support acquisition and stewardship costs.
