About this grant
This grant will support the University of Kansas Center for Research, Inc., which coordinates the Kansas Statewide Afterschool Network. The Kansas Statewide Afterschool Network will focus on building capacity for long-term success and advancing systems change for afterschool and expanded learning in Kansas. Over the next three years, the network will increase policy work, continue to build and nurture strong education partnerships, and create messaging around state-specific data. The network’s specific initiatives will include: 1) collecting statewide data to identify programs, partners, gaps, and barriers for afterschool; 2) creating innovative pathways for programs to offer high school credit through competency-based educational experiences; and 3) developing a credentialing system for afterschool leaders.
