About this grant
Established in 2002, New America Foundation’s Asset-Building Program seeks to significantly broaden the ownership of assets in America, especially among low- and moderate-income households, thereby providing all Americans with both the means to get ahead and a direct stake in the overall success of the U.S. economy. To achieve this goal, the program works in three areas: policy research and development, communications and information dissemination, and policymaker education. This grant will enable New America Foundation to continue generating new knowledge about the benefits of broadly shared wealth; attracting new audiences to asset building concepts through media and communications efforts; creating new constituents for asset building among policymakers and other high-profile public figures and opinion makers; and developing and advancing new policies to help low-income Americans build assets.
