About this grant
The New America Foundation’s Asset Building Program seeks to broaden the ownership of assets in America, especially among low- and moderate-income households, thereby providing all Americans with increased financial security as well as a direct stake in the success of our economy. To achieve this goal, the program works in three areas: policy research and development, communications and information dissemination, and policymaker education. With support from the Mott Foundation, the New America Foundation will continue to: 1) generate new knowledge about the benefits of broadly shared wealth; 2) attract new audiences to asset-building concepts through media and communications efforts; 3) create new constituents for asset building among policymakers and other high profile public figures and opinionmakers; and 4) create and advance new policies to help low-income Americans build assets.
