About this grant
The program goal is to increase citizens’ understanding of and influence over the decisions about European Union funding for regional development in Central and Eastern Europe. The National Society of Conservationists will promote the effective use of structural funds in regional development by supporting local action plans, strengthening national networking among nonprofits involved in regional development, and advocating for improvements in current practices at the European Union level. The grantee will implement this program with partners in six new member states. In addition, the program partners will extend their work to Bulgaria. The National Society of Conservationists has been implementing this program since 2003. Past achievements include disseminating information on good practice in sustainable regional development, supporting national watchdog networks monitoring European Union funds, and advocating for effective and sustainable use of European Union funding.
