About this grant
The Japan Center for a Sustainable Environment and Society works to promote an environmentally sustainable and socially equitable society in Japan and throughout the world. Its multilateral development bank and development finance reform program works to eliminate environmentally destructive projects and to promote sustainable development in developing countries. For this project, the organization will continue to encourage greater integration of environmental and social considerations into the policies and practices of Japan’s development finance institutions, as well as encourage the Japanese government to support reform of multilateral development banks. To further the objectives of this project, the grantee will continue its efforts to engage in policy dialogue with key decisionmakers, undertake policy research, coordinate and disseminate information, and strengthen cooperative ties with international nongovernmental organizations and local groups.
