About this grant
The Flint Cultural Center Corporation operates Whiting Auditorium, Sloan Museum, and Longway Planetarium and is responsible for the grounds of the 33-acre Flint Cultural Center. During the past year, approximately 200,000 students and adults attended or participated in a variety of cultural, educational, and instructional programs and activities offered by these cultural center organizations. In addition to presenting live performances by national touring artists and displaying historic automobiles and artifacts, the corporation also provides educational programming around performing arts, history, and science, both on-site and in area schools. This grant will provide operating support to the Flint Cultural Center Corporation for the benefit of its member organizations to maintain facilities, provide affordable programming for all area residents, and host community events.
